Umberto della Sala, President of Ansaldo Energia, was born in Avellino in 1948.
Graduated in Chemical Engineering at the Politecnico of Milan in 1971, after a brief period spent at Milan Politecnico as associated professor in the Electrochemistry department, he joined Foster Wheeler Italiana (Environmental Division) in 1973 as Process Engineer. In 1979 he was appointed as Manager of Process and Proposals and in 1984 as Divisional Director of the Environmental Division. From beginning of 1997 to the end of 2000 he was assigned to Foster Wheeler USA initially as Vice President and General Manager of its Latin American Operations and President of FW Caribe and subsequently as Commercial Director of North American Operations. In 2000 he returned to Milan as Commercial Director of Foster Wheeler Italiana and the newly formed Foster Wheeler Continental Europe.
He was appointed in 2001 as President & CEO of FW Continental Europe responsible of the operations in Italy, France, Spain, Turkey, Chile and Switzerland. In 2005 he was appointed as CEO of FW Global Engineering & Construction (E&C) Group. In 2007 he was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of FW with full responsibility for the Company’s two business groups: the Global Engineering and Construction (E&C) Group and the Global Power Group (GPG).
From October 2010 until September 2011, he has also served as Interim Chief Executive Officer of Foster Wheeler AG. From 2004 until December 2013 he has continued to maintain the position of President of Foster Wheeler Italiana Group.
He has been a board member of Foster Wheeler AG since 2010.
Giuseppe Zampini, CEO of Ansaldo Energia, was born in Belluno in 1946.
Working from the outset in the power generation sector, he started his career in 1972 at Progettazione Meccaniche Nucleari, before moving on to Nira Spa where he acquired international experience on specific projects.
After these experiences in the field of nuclear power, in 1989 he was appointed to head the Ansaldo Division responsible for energy and steam production plants (cogeneration). Then in 1990/95 he set up and managed Ansaldo Industria of America, acquiring experience in the field of project financing.
He joined Ansaldo Energia in 1997 as General Manager and was appointed CEO in 2001. President of Aspe (Federazione ANIE) Member of ASME.
